Fundraising Options

The goal of the Gallop is to raise funds to help finish the Roanoke River Greenway. There are two ways you can help:

  1. Participants are encouraged to solicit friends to sponsor their participation. Anyone raising $100 will receive a greenway prize. The top fundraiser will win a Trek 7100 hybrid bicycle, donated by East Coasters. The second highest fundraiser will also receive a special prize. Participants should bring their fund raising dollars to packet pick-up to be competitive for prizes. Please put all of your funds into an envelope, labeled with your name and the total amount enclosed. Checks should be made out to Pathfinders for Greenways, Gallop 2011.
  2. Participants may form teams. As participants register, they should enter the team name on the box on the registration form. The team with the most participants and the team that raises the most money will each receive a prize. Team members should put all of the funds they have raised in an envelope, labeled with their name, the team name, and the total included. Participants on a team can be entered in any event.

If you are not participating in the Gallop but would still like to help, you can make a contribution by sponsoring a runner or a team. Unlike other similar events, all of the money raised by the Gallop is spent locally to fund construction of Roanoke River Greenway for the benefit of Roanoke Valley residents and visitors.
