Bella 5K Stroller Race
A new addition to the 2010 Gallop is the 5K Stroller Race, sponsored by Bella Magazine, for parents who would like to participate in the event with their little ones. There will be a separate awards category for the top 3 men and women in this division. Stroller racers will complete the same race course as the other 5K participants, and there will be a designated starting section behind the 5K runners.
The race course covers over 2 miles of Roanoke Valley greenways, including the newly completed connector section of the Roanoke River Greenway at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Participants will begin along the Mill Mountain Greenway/Williamson Road, near the parking garage entrance to Carilion’s Jefferson College. The course will follow the greenway to the end of Williamson Road, over the Walnut Ave Bridge, and along the Roanoke River Greenway. A quick loop around Franklin Road to Reserve Avenue brings racers to Jefferson Street, where they will head back toward downtown to the finish line in front of the Downtown Library. The post race party will be underway in Elmwood Park for all participants and their friends and family.
Registration for the Bella 5K Stroller Race is $25.00 if you sign up before April 9th. Entry fee includes a t-shirt, admission to the post-race party, and a free meal.

The deadlines for online and mail-in registrations have passed, but it still is not too late to enter. On-site registration will be available at packet pickup on Friday afternoon at Fleet Feet from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, on Saturday morning at Fleet Feet from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, and on Saturday afternoon at Elmwood Park from 2:30 to 4:30 PM.
